Fav Highlighter // NYX Liquid Illuminator

Happy Monday!!! Here in Michigan we are having an absolute gorgeous morning. Sun is shining and weather is warm! Which for us is rare now of days! Sunshine automatically puts me in a cheery mood and gives me fantastic motivation in the morning to get ready!

While I was starting to do my makeup and went to grab my highlighter, I realized how much I really love this product. I’ve gone through a couple of highlighters in my time, and nothing compares to this one. So today I am going to share with you about the NYX Liquid Illuminator in the shade “Sunbeam”.

Product: This product comes in two difference shades. The one that I am holding is called Sunbeam and it’s a beautiful pinky/champagne/white combination and the other color they have is called Gleam which is a bronzed highlighter. I’ve had this for about 2 months now and originally bought it from Ulta for around $7.50. Not expensive at all compared to high end products. I went with Sunbeam for a more natural sunlit luminous glow on my cheeks.

How I apply:  I place 4 or 5 small dots on my cheek bone surrounding my eye up until above my brow usually. Then I take my middle finger and lightly dab or stipple into my skin on the area I want highlighted. Towards the end if any areas need more blending I will lightly rub it into the skin with a light circular motion. I’ve also heard that you can use this underneath your foundation as a base to create a luminous, dewy look.

Final result: This picture below is what it looks like on. The camera did not show it’s full effect but you can still see the luminous glow on my cheekbones! Perfect for spring & summer! (Excuse the eye brows, did not do that step until after taking these pictures)

Thank you guys for taking the time to read my post! Hope you enjoyed this product review! Like I said earlier in the way I apply my highlighter, if you would like to see the look of using this highlighter as a foundation base to create a dewy luminous look, let me know & I’ll do a post/video about that look!

Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soap: 18-in-1 Hemp Peppermint Pure Castile Soap

A trip to BetterHealth Market last night turned into going in to buy 2 essential oil bottles (grapefruit & lemon) and walking out with a bag full of goodies!!! I even got my husband to come shopping with me which was so much fun. I want us to start living healthier lifestyles, including eating/using more natural products so that is why I love BetterHealth Market!

My husband actually came across this line of products from Dr. Bronner’s and was highly interested in it. I’ve been using the peppermint essential oil lately and he loves the smell. So he was intrigued to what this soap would be like. We quickly looked up some reviews on the soap and I saw nothing but great reviews. There was so many uses for this, not just a body wash. It was $9.00 in the store, & I had a 15% coupon.

That night we both took showers & tried this product out. WOW! That is all I can say! It was such an exhilarating experience. To start off this is highly concentrated so a small drop on a loofah will be plenty! It creates such a nice foamy lather that is 100% vegan and organic. After you lather your body, you then feel a tingly, clean feeling that is great!! The peppermint smell takes over your bathroom and smells great. ( it is VERY strong so if you don’t like peppermint you will not enjoy this). However, there is other scents.

After reading more on it, I’ve seen many other uses for it. Including shampoo, face wash, toothpaste, dish soap, laundry soap and even washing your kitchen and bathrooms with it. I am very impressed with this product and can’t wait to try other uses for it!!

Sensationail Gel Polish Starter Kit Review // LOVE!

TARGET // $50

Trying new products is one of my favorite excitements. It’s either a very uplifting fun discovery, or a major let down. Sometimes it can be a pricey let down at that! I would call make-up a hobby of mine, and can be looked at as a form of art and a creative outlet for me. I am far from a professional, but I enjoy making myself looking beautiful. One area of make-up that I lack in majorly is my nails. I have terrible, terrible, terrible nails to begin with and I will admit that! I have very short nail beds and my nails look they are on the hands of a seven-year old-young girl. They are brittle & thin, and do not grow long what so ever. Since the age of 16 I have been getting acrylics applied religiously (which is not helping my thin nail problem obviously; this is my own fault.) Shellac manicures started getting popular within the past couple of years and I have yet to try one out. To me, I got acrylics for the length and thickness. Shellac was not going to give me length so I stayed away from trying it. Even though the manicure lasts up to two weeks, it seemed pricey.

After Christmas I had a gift card to Target and I roamed up and down the cosmetic aisles when I came across the gel nail polish kits that came with the LED lamps included. There was two brands: Sally Hansen or Sensationail. I looked up some reviews on my Iphone and decided to try the Sensationail brand out! Seemed legit and if I kept up with it, I heard it would help make your nails grow longer if you kept polish on them at all times.

I got home that night and opened the package and read the directions. Seemed easy enough. After about a total of 10 minutes, I had a beautiful, smooth, perfect manicure! I was AMAZED. Every time I do my own nails it turns out messy, uneven, and always looks like a child painted my nails. To my surprise, this turned out perfect. My nails are so hard, shiny and smooth. It was so simple to do as well. It took no time at all.

The color in this picture is the one that came with the starter kit : Raspberry Wine.

OVERALL OPINION: I am on day six of my gel manicure and I would have say they have held up pretty well. The box says lasts up to two weeks. Mine is starting to just now chip at the top but not anywhere near as bad as regular nail polish. I am very pleased and super excited to run out and buy new colors. They are however more expensive than regular nail polishes. (Around $10/pc) I am very excited I came across this product and I give it two thumbs up!!!
